Book Clubs

24 Jan

We wanted to share a really cool thing that happened to us this week. We were contacted by a book club that is reading Becoming Sage. They told us how much they were enjoying the book and how hard it was to not read ahead. I’m sure for many of you this is an old hat experience, but it was our first and it was such a cool thrill. We sent them a bunch of signed trading cards for our first three books and have offered to do a Q & A session with the club when they finish and are waiting to see if they are interested.

So, it got me to thinking, are book clubs still a common thing? Have any of you participated in group reads for books clubs? I think they are a really cool idea but the closest we get to it here is the writing group we moderate which is not the same thing. As either an author or reader what experiences have you had? Have any of you on here ever done a Q & A with a book club and if so what format did you do and how did it work? Can anyone set up an interactive chat? Did you use Skype or a conference call? We would love to be involved with more book clubs and will shamelessly bribe you with swag, lol, just contact us.

The other really cool thing that happened was that we were contacted by a local magazine to do the cover story for both the print and electronic versions on the Valentine Day Issue. We finished all of the questions last night and are meeting with the reporter for dinner to get photos and follow up questions. It was really cool to be contacted and asked to do the interview. I will post more information when I have the permission to give the details. Finally, we were notified that Double Dom Fantasies is in copy edits so all our edits must have been accepted, lol. We should have the final version in a week or so and hopefully a firm release date. It is scheduled for a March release but we don’t know which day.

Have a great day and we look forward to hearing about your experiences with book clubs.

I’m in a book club with some friends….we have it on Facebook since we all live all over the place! It’s definitely both fun and frustrating at the same time when one member picks a book you really have no interest in because of the entire genre. But overall it’s a great experience and introduces new authors, books, etc. Congrats on your interview!!! Definitely keep us all posted!!!!!
