Evie’s Impressions

22 Apr

“Love, love, love–all the wretched cant of it, masking egotism, lust, masochism, fantasy under a mythology of sentimental postures, a welter of self-induced miseries and joys, blinding and masking the essential personalities in the frozen gestures of courtship, in the kissing and the dating and the desire, the compliments and the quarrels which vivify its barrenness.”

~ Germaine Greer

Where to begin? So many new and exciting experiences has happened over the last year that I don’t know where to start. It’s been one crazy, emotional and physical roller coaster ride. Ups, down’s, twists and turns that I never saw coming, has left me dizzy. Just incase being in a relationship wasn’t a challenge in itself, lets add two more people,  a 24/7 power exchange dynamic, and not only live under one roof but share the same bed (yes we do) and bedroom. Oh, I’ve also been thrown into  full on-set menopause. Yep folks, I’m one big bag of crazy right now.

A few things that I’ve learned over the course of the year; Accept people for who they are and what they believe in, you may not have to like it or agree with it, but you do have to respect the diversity of others. It’s never just you and so and so in the relationship, everything you say and do can/does effect the others in one way or the other.

I’ve wanted to throw in the towel so many times I’ve lost count. To say it’s been very challenging would be an understatement.  It is not an easy situation or relationship. I don’t know why anybody would do this if it really wasn’t something that they believed in. It would be hell. Thankfully in my case, I  do see the many benefits of poly, and that is what keeps me here. I regret nothing. The last year has been an amazing, and exhilerating experience. So much personal growth. I’m not sure what the future holds, but for now, I’m enjoying this ride!

Ciao for now
